ABSTRACT: Interleukin -17A (IL-17A) is a proinflammatory factor, it is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family. The cytokines in the family are named IL-17A to IL-17F, and IL -17A is the most representative member of the family. It can cause inflammatory cells to release a variety of chemokines, cytokines and antibacterial peptides and induce neutrophil aggregation and proliferation, which is a bridge between innate immunity and adaptive immunity. Cytokines in the IL-17A family play a key role in the development, develop- ment, and host defense of many lung allergic, autoimmune, and neoplastic diseases, and it is abnormally expressed in chronic inflamma- tory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis (CF), sarcoidosis, bronchiectasis, and so on. Although the specific mechanism of IL-17A affecting disease development has not been elucidated in many diseases, it has been shown to be associated with the development of disease. It not only provides a new breakthrough point for the study of the pathogenesis of related diseases, but also provides a new way for the study of new treatment methods. This article reviews the progress in the study of IL-17A in chronic inflammatory diseases of respiratory tract. |
