ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the serum levels of growth differentiation factor-15(GDF-15) at different stages of patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD) and analyze its correlation with other clinical indicators related to renal function. Methods: One hun- dred and fifty patients with CKD and 30 healthy cases treated in the Affiliated hospital of Southwest Medical University from March 2017 to July 2017 were selected as disease group and control group respectively. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the serum GDF-15 level of participants. Results: The eGFR and serum levels of GDF-15, SCr, BUN in patients with CKD2-5 were higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). With the increase of CKD stage, the levels of SCr, BUN, GDF-15 of patients increased gradually(P<0.05). The concentration of UA in patients with CKD3 was significantly higher than that of the control group and patients with CKD1(P<0.05). The concentration of UA in the patients with CKD4, CKD5 were significantly higher than those of control group, patients with CKD1and CKD2(P<0.05). Correlation analysis showed that serum GDF-15 level was positively correlated with the levels of SCr, BUN, UA (r=0.751, 0.764, 0.470, P<0.01), and negatively correlated with eGFR (r=-0.768, P<0.01). Conclusion: Serum GDF-15 level is closely related to the occurrence and development of chronic kidney disease. |
