ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in patients with lung cancer. Methods: A total of 88 patients with lung cancer, who were admitted to Second People's Hospital of Yibin from March 2016 to March 2017, were chosen as study group; 88 subjects, who underwent physical examination in the hospital during the same period, were chosen as control group. The peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets of the patients of the two groups were detected by flow cytometry. The expression levels of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets of the patients in the two groups were observed and compared, and the expression levels of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets of the patients with different clinicopathological characteristics in the study group were analyzed. Results: The expression levels of CD4+/CD8+, CD4+ and CD3+ in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the expression level of CD8+ was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The expression levels of CD4+/CD8+, CD4+ and CD3+ of the patients of the study group in stage III and IV were lower than those in stage I and II, and the expression level of CD8+ in stage III and IV was higher than that in stage I and II (P<0.05). The expression levels of CD4+/CD8+, CD4+ and CD3+ in the patients with small cell lung cancer were lower than those in the patients with non-small cell lung cancer, the expression level of CD8+ was higher than that in the patients with non-small cell lung cancer, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of CD4+/CD8+, CD4+ and CD3+ among the patients with different gender, age and tumor differentiation (P>0.05). Conclusion: The expression of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in the patients with lung cancer is abnormal, and the expression level is related to the stage and pathological type of lung cancer.
