ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the application value of CT scanning in the atypical localized pancreatic fat deposition. Methods: 42 cases of patients with atypical localized pancreatic fat deposition treated in the gastroenterology department of our hospital from January 2013 to December 2016 were selected as the observation group, and another 50 cases of normal people with health examination at the same time period in our hospital were enrolled in the control group. The CT scanning results of the two groups were compared. Results: The results of routine CT showed that the shape and size of the pancreas were unchanged, and there was no dilatation in the common bile duct while the enhanced CT scanning showed there was a homogeneous low density shadow in the pancreas in the observation group. There were significant differences between the observation group and the control group in the scanning values of the artery, vein and the delay time of enhanced CT [(68.19±2.01) vs.(90.39±4.67), (44.34±3.52) vs. (83.37±6.02) , (36.28± 4.96) vs. (66.08±5.91)] (P<0.05). Conclusion: Common CT combined with enhanced CT scanning can accurately diagnose the attack of atypical localized pancreatic fat deposition, and can be used to diagnose this disease with differential diagnosis, but attention should be paid to distinguishing this from other pancreatic diseases.
