ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the clinical effect of the repair of inguinal hernia with biomaterial patch to strengthenthe recon- struction of the weak abdominal wall on the inguinal hernia. Methods: Thirty patients with non strangulated inguinal hernia who were treated in our hospital were randomly divided into the traditional repair group and the biological patch repair group according to the pa- tients' wishes. The clinical curative effect was compared between the two groups. The patients were followed up for 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after operation. The VAS score and subjective satisfaction were recorded, and incision infection and other complications were recorded. Results: All patients were successfully completed the operation, and more than six months' follow-up. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, length of hospital stay, time of postoperative ground movement, analgesic drug use were significantly shorter or lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The VAS score and subjective satisfaction of both groups were significantly lower than those before operation (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: There was less surgical trauma and shorter recovery period in biological patch repair group, but the safety and short-term effects were comparable with the traditional surgery. |
