Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by a significant decrease in bone mineral density and structural
changes. Current clinical therapeutic treatments are not able to offer effective solution to counter the bone mass loss and the increased
risk of fractures. With the special properties, nanomaterials have been widely used in bone tissue engineering. This review summarized
new developments of some nanomaterials and evaluate their applications for the treatment of osteoporosis. |
