Objective:To study the clinical effects of different intermaxillary traction in treatment of simple fracture of condylar
process. Methods:A total of 50 patients with simple fracture of condylar process, who were admitted to Yibin Second People's Hospital,
Yibin, Sichuan from January 2010 to January 2015, were selected and randomly divided into group A and group B. Group A was treated
with titanium screw implantation; group B was treated with dental arch splint fixation. The operation time, the maximumopening degree,
five time points of debris index(DI), gingival index(GI), community periodontal of treatment need(CPITN), the clinical effects of the two
groups were compared. Results:The operation time of group A was significantly shorter than that of group B (P<0.05). There were no
significant differences in the maximum opening degree and the articulation mandibularis between the two groups (P>0.05). The DI, GI
and CPITN of group A at 2th time, 3th time, 4th time and 5th time were significantly better than those of groupB (P<0.05). There were
no significant differences in the surface deflection, good chewing, occlusal relationship, joint elasticity, lateral deviation on opening and
joint toothache between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:Both traction screw implantation and dental arch splint fixation can
improve the fracture of patients, but the former for patients has the advantages of small damage, shorter operation time, better debris
indexes and gingival condition. |
