Preeclampsia is a specific disease of pregnancy. The etiology and pathogenic mechanisms are not elucidated largely.
Several factors are involved in preeclampsia, and highlighting the imbalance of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is one of important
reasons and participates in the pathophysiologic changes of preeclampsia. The article is aimed to review the changes and functions of the
components of RAS in systemic circulation and uteroplacental unit, particularly chymase and AT1 autoantibodies (AT1-AA) in
preeclampsia. |
