Objective:To observe the effects of Renal Sympathetic Denervation (RSD) on blood pressure with pressure-overload
animal model. Methods:The rabbit model of pressure overload hypertension was established by 50%~ 60%coarctation of the abdominal
aorta based on previous reports. After two months, the abdominal RSD was carried out with radiofrequency ablation catheter. Two
months after RSD, the blood pressure value was measured by carotid artery intubation. Results:The rabbit model of hypertension was
successfully established by abdominal aortic constriction. Two months after RSD, the heart rate of rabbits in four groups had no
significant difference (P>0.05). The blood pressure in hypertension group remained significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.
05). However, blood pressure in hypertension+ablation group was lower than that of hypertension group (P<0.05); while there was no
significant difference between control+ablation group and control group (P>0.05).Conclusion:The pressure-overload hypertension
model of New Zealand rabbits can be stably established by abdominal aortic coarctation. RSD can reduce blood pressure caused by
pressure-overload, which is good to cardiac load for a long time. |
