The premise of neural stem cells used for clinical therapy in neuroscience and fundamental research is to accomplish
isolation, culture, purification and amplification in vitro firstly. Some attempts have been taken to use them for repairing injuries and
curing diseases in nervous system of model animals with the success of neural stem cells isolation from mice, human beings and porcine.
Although more research about neural stem cells from mice and human beings has been reported, porcine would become more desirable
model animal on fundamental and exploratory development because of a basic limitation of neurological applications on the use of rodent
cell cultures and scarce source of human neural stem cells. Some research has revealed the possibility that porcine neural tissue would be
an alternative source to human xenografted cells for transplantation in neurodegenerative disorders, but research about isolation and culture
of porcine neural stem cells in vitro is parum. This article mainly discusses the recent advancement about this aspect. |
