      Probiotics have been defined as living microorganisms may promote the ecological balance of intestinal bacteria that exert beneficial effects on the health and/or physiological function of the host. In this paper, the development and change of the concept of probiotics, types of detailed information and its applications in foods are reviewed. The purpose is to provide the basic situation and development tendency of the application of probiotics in foods.
