Objective:To evaluate the effect andpotential mechanism of capsaicin on the glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes
in vitro.Methods:3T3-L1 preadipocytes cells were exposed to different concentrations capsaicin for 24 h, 48 h and 72 h. MTT assay was
used to detect their effect on the cell vitality. Glucose metabolism was determined by GLU Test Kits. The GLUT-1 protein was
demonstrated by Western Blot.Results:Treatment of capsaicin (25 uM, 50 uM, 100 uM) showed significant effect on cell viability.
Capsaicin (6.25, 12.5, 25 uM) could improve glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 cells. Western Blot results showed that the glucose transporter 1
(GLUT-1) protein expressions were significantly increased in treatment groups than control.Conclusion:the effect of capsaicin on
glucose metabolismmight be associated with promoting the GLUT-1 protein expression. |
