Hypobaric hypoxia causes pathophysiological changes on the tissues and organs, As a part of this, oxidative stress injury
is the pathophysiologic basis of most diseases. Numerous studies show that, hypobaric hypoxia results the reduction of antioxidant
enzymes levels in vivo, and oppositely increases the advanced lipoxidation end product malondialdehyde. These results demonstrate that
hypobaric hypoxia increases the oxidative stress injury. This article reviews the effect of different types of hypobaric hypoxia on oxidation,
antioxidant system. To Describe the effect of different types of hypobaric hypoxia on oxidation, antioxidant system, incluing the acute
hypobaric hypoxia、the chronic intermittent hypobaric hypoxia and the plateau adaptability. Acute hypobaric hypoxia affects not only the
activities of antioxidant enzymes, but also inhibits the anti-apoptotic protein by promoting the apoptosis of hypoxic cells. There is a significant
protective effect on tissues and organs after chronnic intermittent hypobaric hypoxia pretreatment. That may provide a non-drug
treatment for cardiovascular disease. |
