| Disrupted pancreatic β-cell function and decreased β-cell number are two of the main causes of type 2 diabetes.
glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity are the most important acquired character associated with type 2 diabetes. Recent studies have indicated
that autophagy plays an important role in maintaining internal environment stabilization ,number ,secretive function of pancreatic β-cell
and counteracting insulin resistance. In this paper ,we review the concept of autophagy and its role in pancreatic β-cells and type-2
diabetes. |
